About
Since 1970, a school where your child is known by name.
Bangor Christian Schools is a ministry of Crosspoint Church, serving PK4 through grade 12 for 56 years on one 35-acre campus on Broadway.
How it started
Eighty-five students. Three teachers. A rented building on French Street.
In 1970, a handful of families believed their children could be taught well and taught faithfully in the same classroom, and they did not wait for permission. They rented space on French Street, hired three teachers, and opened the doors to eighty-five students.
56 years later the school sits on 35 acres with four buildings — classrooms, a gymnasium, a chapel, and a radio station with working production studios where students learn on real equipment. The scale changed. The conviction did not.

Our mission
To partner with Christian families in educating students academically, spiritually, socially, and physically — so that graduates think clearly, live faithfully, and serve the people around them.
We are not trying to be the biggest school in Penobscot County. We are trying to be the school where a teacher notices on a Tuesday that your daughter is quieter than usual, and does something about it.
What we believe
- Scripture is the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
- Every student is made in the image of God, and is therefore worth knowing by name.
- Truth is not divided into sacred and secular — math, literature, and science all belong to God.
- Parents hold the primary responsibility for a child's education; the school comes alongside them.
- Grace and high expectations are not in conflict.
Our mandate
The school exists because of a charge given to parents long before there were schools — to tell the next generation what God has done.
“He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children.”
Psalm 78:5-6
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.”
Deuteronomy 6:5-9
